Intel 845PE roundup @ NordicHardware

Both Intel and SiS have launched Dual Channel DDR chipset but concerning performance the 845PE is still handling these newcomers very well. The fact that the chipset has had time to mature on the market has caused the price to decrease greatly since the launch and 845PE based motherboards can be bought for about 100 $ these days."
I've always liked checking out roundups but have never wanted to write one.

New 800Mhz FSB Pentium Processors
Published: Thursday, May 22, 2003 | By: Dennis"Intel on May 21 added three more 800MHz FSB (front-side bus)-based Pentium 4 processors with clock speeds running at 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8GHz, following the launch of its first 3GHz, 800MHz FSB-supporting P4 on April 14.
Besides the 800MHz FSB standard, the three new processors also support Intel’s Hyper-Threading Technology, which allows one processor to work as a dual-processor set.
Meanwhile, contrary to market rumors, Intel did not introduce a 3.2GHz, 800MHz FSB model together during the launch."
Finally a sub 3.0Ghz P4 that supports Hyperthreading. -
Intel to Cut Springdale Prices

However, motherboard manufacturers believe that the chip giant may announce larger price cuts by the end of the third quarter if Taiwanese chipset designers introduce 800MHz FSB (front-side bus), dual-channel DDR400 products on time in that quarter and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) launches its K8-core Athlon 64 processors in September as scheduled."

Other people might see this as a 5 star product, but I wouldn't spend my money on it, it doesn't really add any value to your system. But if you are going for the looks, you gotta go with the cooldrive 3."
I will admit the fan is rather small. -

Springdale Launch Day
Published: Wednesday, May 21, 2003 | By: DennisThis was announced some time ago but due to the war in Iraq Intel decided to delay the Springdale launch by a couple of weeks to allow for shipping delays. Well time has passed and despite some companies having products already on the shelf they are officially acknowledging that they exist.
Case in point, the link below goes to the Abit press release for the IS7 (Springdale) motherboard series. The funny thing is that this board has been available in retail channels for the past couple of weeks.
Any event Springdale has landed!
