After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

Day 1 - Planning and Party

Funny thing is this mod started out as a get together between myself and Breakdown that included quite a bit of beer; as a result the majority of the work done on Day 1 was dedicated to planning the mod and the initial disassembly. After that the desire to drink overcame the both of us and the mod stopped.
Here we have the case and the watercooling gear that will be installed. The major pieces include the radiator, fan and pump. The other required items are small so we won't need to plan exactly where they go. Yet..
It was decided that the radiator would be placed at the top of the case opposite of the power supply. Given the depth of the fan and radiator combo it would take out 2 of the top most drive bays. With that, let the cutting begin.
I actually started cutting the hole for the radiator on Day 1 but one of the drawbacks of drinking is that you see things in a different way. In this case the lines that needed to be curved for the radiator opening didn't curve when they needed to and somehow went straight across. Needless to say there goes my artistic contribution to the radiator opening. wink smile
