After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

    Left 4 Dead 2

With flesh eating zombies coming after you in endless waves Left 4 Dead 2 does push your hardware beyond what is seen in most games. The storyline is simple; you and 3 survivors are dropped into the middle of a zombie apocalypse and must find safety among the hordes of dead.

Left 4 Dead 2 is based on DirectX 9 technology and plays well on a variety of hardware.
All of the settings were turned up to the highest with 8x Anti-Aliasing and 16x Anotropic filtering for all of the resolutions.
Once again the GTX 480 seems to like some of the older game engines just as much as it likes the new DirectX 11 versions. The GTX 480 takes top honors in L4D2 without even breaking a sweat.

Keep in mind this game is based on an older DX9 game engine, and after so many FPS over a 100 you lose sight of the truth. All of the cards in this test can handle L4D2 with incredible ease.

GeForce GTX 480 just handles L4D2 better.big grin smile
